Thorne Colliery Under 15s 3
Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls 1
COLLIERY Under 15s entertained Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls in a pre-season friendly.

Colliery were slow to start, Wednesday having all the ball in the first 15 minutes, but Colliery began to come more into the game playing some good football. N
either team were able to break the deadlock in the first half.

Four minutes into the second half, Wednesday cut through the Colliery defence to take the lead. Colliery responded straight from the re-start with a good move well finished by Luke Skillcorn, then they took the lead a minute later when Jono Tomlinson fired home from ten yards.

Thorne were now controlling the game and would have increased their lead but for some fine saves from the visiting keeper.

They got a third when Kyle's low shot beat the keeper from inside the penalty area.

Thanks go to Chris at Garner's butchers for providing the raffle prize.

Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls have agreed to return to Thorne in August when they will be bringing teams at Under 16s, Under 15s and Under 11s.

Colliery are looking for new players to strengthen their Under 11s team for the coming season and to play in pre-season friendlies.
