THORNE finally got the result their recent performances deserved.
On a cold, wet morning, they dominated the game from start to finish, so much so, goalkeepers Kulahik (first half) and A Freeman (second half) only had one save to make between them.
The defence of Gallagher, Freeman, Christie and Amesbury (Skinner second half), stopped any sign of a threat and linked well with midfield.
The only surprise was it took Thorne so long to score.
They had to wait until just before half-time when Fenwick received a good through ball, beat two players before giving the goalkeeper no chance.
The second half saw further pressure with a second goal coming quickly.
After a good move with good interplay between Fenwick and Roberts, Rhodes was set up to score and finished well.
The midfield of Maclauchlan, Phillips, Wraith and Scothern (second half), won almost everything and it was clear more goals were coming.
Roberts and Fenwick again worked well together when Roberts finished off the move well for the third.
The fourth was an individual effort by Roberts when he ran from his own half, beating several players before coolly slotting the ball in the back of the net.
Overall it was a very satisfying result for all concerned with the team and we hope it pushes us all on.
There are two places left in the squad.
