EXPECTANT mums and post-natal women are invited to take advantage of a new baby club opening in Moorends next week.
The facility, based at the Orchard Centre on Marshlands Road, is a drop-in session which will run once a week for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.

Community midwife for Thorne and Moorends Angie Stevenson told the Gazette: "We aim to provide hel
p, advice and support on all aspects of breastfeeding and its impact on daily life - from starting, to stopping, and all the variations in between."

The baby cafe will offer a relaxed, informal atmosphere where mums can access the wealth of literature available, get one-to-one help from specially trained health professionals and chat to other mums over a cuppa.

As well as a comfortable seating area for the adults there will be a play area for any accompanying toddlers.

No appointment is necessary and partners, supporters and health professionals are also welcome. The baby café drop-in is facilitated by local midwives and health visitors and supported by volunteers from the Hedgerow Children's Centre.

The offical launch takes place on Thursday, August 14, between 10-11am by mayor, Councillor Mrs Carol Williams. The baby cafe will then be open every Thursday between 10am-noon.
